Trinidad Triggers Rally Past Las Cruces Vaqueros 8-5

June 15 2012 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Las Cruces Vaqueros 8-5 at Fort Marcy Park. Trinidad collected 15 hits and played error-free defense while Las Cruces finished with 10 hits and one error.

Trinidad broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the sixth inning and added two more in the seventh to build an 8-3 lead. Las Cruces answered with two runs in the eighth but could not complete the comeback.

Clint Stroud led the Triggers with three hits in four at-bats and two RBI. Colt Loehrs added two hits and an RBI while Chad Bisnette drove in three runs. A. Riddick also homered and collected two RBI and Stroud and Bisnette hit home runs as Trinidad produced three long balls.

Scott Sobczak earned the win after allowing five runs on nine hits in 7.1 innings. He struck out three and walked six. James Bierlien recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning. Las Cruces starter Derek Johnson took the loss after surrendering six runs on 12 hits in 5.2 innings.
